Stock up for winter! All hay sales are welcome, whether small or large! Our hay is custom baled with the horse owner in mind. The baler is set at 15 strokes per bale which results in a customized horse ration bale consisting of 15 flakes per bale, approximately 7.5 lbs. per flake for a total bale weight of around 115 lbs.

According to horse feed tables, most horses require 15 lbs. of hay per day.* Feeding two flakes per horse per day is easy and convenient, with no messy, splitting of flakes to make the daily ration. Of course, individual feeding requirements do vary. You may want to check with your veterinarian regarding specific nutritional needs for your horse.

We put up 500 tons of hay per year. Both the Timothy and Orchard Grass Hay are excellent for horse feed. All bales are three-string which weigh around 115 lbs. per bale. There are about 18 bales per ton. All hay is protected from weather, stored under cover in metal hay barns. If you are unable to self-load and haul, on request, we may be able to provide names of reputable local hay haulers to help you arrange delivery.

Comments or Questions about Hay:

*A horse requires from 1.0 to 2.0 pounds of good quality hay per day per 100 pounds of body weight. For example, the amount of hay to feed an 1,100 lb. horse can range from 11 to 22 pounds of hay daily. The exact amount fed will depend on the horse's use, production stage, and amounts of other feedstuffs fed.
